  • The hybrid system may auto-start the petrol engine - ensure vehicle is in READY OFF mode
  • High-voltage battery is separate from fuel system but exercise caution
  • Disable hybrid system before fuel work (remove IGCT relay if needed)

Status: PRIMARY METHOD for Toyota Aqua

Procedure Summary

  1. Ensure vehicle is READY OFF (not in READY mode)
  2. Disconnect 12V auxiliary battery
  3. Remove rear seat cushion
  4. Remove access panel cover
  5. Disconnect fuel pump connector and lines
  6. Remove fuel pump lock ring
  7. Extract contaminated fuel
  8. Replace fuel filter if required
  9. Reinstall with new seal
  10. Refill with correct fuel grade
