Hyundai Motor Group prescribes fuel tank removal and/or fuel pump access panel removal as the procedures for accessing fuel tank contents.

Fuel contamination is classified as vehicle misuse and excluded from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis warranty coverage. NZIFDA certified technicians follow manufacturer service manual procedures.

Fuel Tank Removal

1. Release residual pressure in fuel line

2. Disconnect negative (-) battery terminal

3. Remove fuel pump connector

4. Drain fuel from fuel tank using approved equipment

5. Raise vehicle and support safely

6. Disconnect fuel filler hose and vent hose

7. Disconnect fuel lines

8. Support tank with jack, remove mounting straps

9. Lower tank carefully”
