Frequently asked questions

Can I misfuel a Kia EV6/EV9?

There is no petrol or diesel tank. Risk is limited to adding the wrong fluid to the washer reservoir or other caps — never use the charging port for anything except charging.

What if petrol is poured into a Kia EV6/EV9 charging port?

Do not charge. Isolate the vehicle, contact Kia roadside assistance or a high-voltage-qualified workshop. Contamination of HV components is a serious safety issue under HSWA 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.

Does wrong fuel affect Kia electric vehicle warranty?

Liquid contamination of electrical systems is not a manufacturing defect and is typically excluded from warranty. Document remediation by a qualified technician.

Is AdBlue relevant to the Kia EV6/EV9?

Not applicable — this model has no diesel exhaust fluid system.
