Fuel Contamination Remediation Standards

⚠️ Mercedes-Benz Position

Mercedes-Benz prescribes fuel tank removal and/or fuel pump access as the procedures for accessing fuel tank contents.

Mercedes-Benz warranty excludes damage from use of improper fuel. WIS (Workshop Information System) documents specific fuel system access procedures that NZIFDA certified technicians follow.

⚠️ Mercedes-Benz Diesel - BlueTEC / OM Engine Warning

Mercedes-Benz diesel engines (OM series with BlueTEC) use extremely sophisticated common rail injection systems with piezoelectric injectors. These systems are among the most sensitive to fuel contamination:

AdBlue (DEF) Contamination

Many Mercedes-Benz diesel models use AdBlue (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) for emissions compliance. AdBlue contamination of the fuel system is a serious issue:

NZIFDA certified technicians are trained in both fuel and AdBlue contamination procedures.
