Jaguar I-PACE

Fuel Contamination Remediation Standards

⚠️ Jaguar I-PACE — Not applicable misfuel risk

I-PACE is battery electric — no petrol or diesel fuel tank. Wrong fluid in washer or coolant reservoirs still needs OEM guidance.

If the engine was not started

Do not start the engine or turn the ignition to RUN. Do not drive. Arrange NZIFDA-certified drainage before contamination reaches the high-pressure pump. Keep receipts for contaminated fuel disposal (regional council and Waste Minimisation Act 2008 requirements).

If the engine was started

If a diesel quantity was driven in a petrol engine, stop as soon as safe. Flush the tank, replace filters, and inspect spark plugs and catalytic converter for smoke or misfire; follow TOPIx if OBD faults persist.

⚠️ Jaguar position — I-PACE

JLR TOPIx documents fuel tank removal and pump access. Warranty excludes misfuel-related damage. Follow HSWA 2015 and Hazardous Substances Regulations 2017 controls when draining fuel indoors.

OEM access procedure

  1. If incorrect fluid was added to a non-fuel reservoir, do not drive if braking or cooling systems may be affected.
  2. Consult JLR TOPIx for the correct drain and flush procedure for the affected system.
  3. High-voltage safety: qualified technicians only for battery and orange-cable work (HSWA 2015).
  4. Dispose of contaminated fluids via licensed waste collectors under Waste Minimisation Act 2008.

Frequently asked questions

Can I misfuel a I-PACE?

There is no fuel tank. Only use the designated charging port with compatible AC/DC charging.

What about washer fluid mistakes?

Washer fluid in the wrong reservoir is not a fuel misfuel — follow TOPIx fluid capacities and flush if coolant/washer cross-contamination occurred.
