Jaguar Land Rover prescribes fuel tank removal and/or fuel pump access as the procedures for accessing fuel tank contents.

JLR warranty excludes damage from fuel contamination. TOPIx (Technical Online Publication Information eXchange) documents specific procedures that NZIFDA certified technicians follow.

Fuel Tank - Removal

WARNING: Observe all fuel system safety precautions. Risk of fire.

  • Depressurise fuel system
  • Disconnect battery (12V and 48V where applicable)
  • Drain fuel tank using approved fuel extraction equipment
  • Raise vehicle on four-post lift
  • Remove underbody protection
  • Disconnect fuel filler pipe
  • Disconnect fuel lines (use JLR special tools)
  • Disconnect electrical connectors
  • Support tank with transmission jack
  • Remove tank straps and lower”
