⚠️ Volkswagen Group Position
Volkswagen Group prescribes fuel tank removal and draining via fuel cart as the procedure for accessing fuel tank contents.
VW Group service manuals explicitly warn against improper fuel system access. All warranty claims for fuel system damage due to contamination are excluded as misuse.

⚠️ European Diesel Vehicles - High Misfuel Risk
Volkswagen Group diesel vehicles are among the most commonly misfuelled in New Zealand. TDI engines are particularly sensitive to petrol contamination due to high-pressure common rail fuel systems. If petrol has been added to a TDI vehicle:
- Do NOT start the engine
- Do NOT turn the ignition on (priming pump activates)
- Contact NZIFDA certified technician immediately
- Full tank removal and system flush typically required
