About NZIFDA

Our Mission

The New Zealand Insoluble Fuel Disposal Agency (NZIFDA) is an independent industry association dedicated to establishing and maintaining professional standards in the fuel contamination remediation sector. We work to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices to protect all stakeholders across New Zealand's fuel management industry.

Our History

Established in 2024, NZIFDA was created in response to growing concerns about inconsistent standards and non-compliant practices in the misfuel remediation industry. We recognized the need for an independent industry authority to establish clear guidelines, promote compliance, and protect both consumers and the environment.

What We Do

  • Set Industry Standards: Develop comprehensive protocols for fuel contamination remediation
  • Certify Operators & Workshops: Assess and certify Compliant Operators and Certified Workshops who meet our rigorous standards and authorize them to display the NZIFDA Mark
  • Monitor Compliance: Monitor the industry and investigate reports of non-compliant operators
  • Protect Consumers: Ensure fair pricing, proper documentation, and quality service
  • Environmental Protection: Ensure proper disposal of contaminated fuel per EPA and MfE guidelines
  • Industry Education: Provide resources and training to improve industry practices
